Athena Technology Group (ATG) is seeking a Risk Analyst III to join our SCITES 2 team at Miami, FL. The Risk Analyst III primary function is to support the SCITES 2 Cybersecurity program.
Essential functions
- Risk Analyst III manages TO- and project-level risks and opportunities in accordance with SCITES 2 risk management process.
- They use the enterprise-wide OnSpring risk management tool to document risks, define risk treatment strategies, and monitor risk management activities.
- They are responsible for managing the application of analytical risk management principles to achieve mission assurance by preparing for, preventing, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies.
- They apply the SCITES 2 risk management process and OnSpring to identify, communicate, and report on TO and project risks.
- They develop and execute innovative solutions and mitigation strategies to solve complex problems regarding risk. They facilitate risk evaluation activities, Mitigation Plan development and execution, and mitigation effectiveness.
- They provide Risk Reports to the PMO for inclusion into TO deliverables.
- They receive direction from the Quality Assurance Lead IV, collaborate with other Risk Analyst IIIs, and mentor subordinate Risk Analysts. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments on IT systems, applications, and business processes to identify vulnerabilities and threats.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls and recommend improvements.
- Develop and maintain risk registers, documenting identified risks, potential impact, likelihood, and mitigation strategies.
- Analyze threat intelligence and vulnerability data to proactively identify emerging risks.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders across IT, business units, and leadership to understand their risk profiles and provide guidance on risk mitigation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management framework and processes.
- Participate in incident response activities, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
- Stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry’s best practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management and other stakeholders on risk posture and mitigation efforts.
- May assist in conducting internal audits and facilitating external audits related to cybersecurity compliance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Experience:
- 9 years of position-specific relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Experience conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling.
- Knowledge of common security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint security).
