Job Summary
We are seeking a Cable Installer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the team in various ways during simultaneous conferences and events. You will play a key part in ATG’s support of various USSOUTHCOM efforts to deter aggression, defeat threats, protect National Security, rapidly respond to crisis situations and build various area of responsibility (AOR) Information Technology (IT) capacity. Our team will provide direct support to implement and sustain mission critical IT networks and robust cyber defense services.
Key Responsibilities
Performs inside and outside cable plant services supporting fiber, copper, low voltage, direct burial, aerial, conduit, inner ducting, main distribution frame, intermediate distribution frame, and end-user services
Supports terrestrial and non-terrestrial mission-critical reliability and performance for military, commercial, and supporting environmental equipment
Splices overhead or underground cables used in telecommunications systems
Support creation of networking plans, including layout, installation and testing
Measures, cuts, installs, and tests fiber and copper cables according to standards identified in test plan
Check signal strength across all elements of the network
Pushes long, flexible, steel ribbon fish tape or rods through ducts
Pulls ball or mandrel through duct to clear passage for cable
Provides support to prefabricated communication shelters by assisting with OSP cable entrance and overhead cable tray
Supports Installation, set-up, rearrange, or remove switching, distribution, routing, and dialing equipment used in central offices or headend.
Supports Service or repair telephone, cable television, Internet, and other communications equipment on customers' property.
May install communications equipment or communications wiring in buildings.
Qualifications
Required:
Security Clearance Level: Must hold an active Secret clearance.
Bachelors Degree and 0 years of experience
Associates Degree and 2 years of experience or Highschool Diploma and 4 years experience can qualify candidate in leu of Bachelors degree.
Applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
Performs work that requires practical experience and training. Work is performed under supervision.
Desired:
Experience in large, distributed IT enterprises
DoD/Military experience with planning and executing various types of events.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Work to be performed out of Doral, FL supporting various missions across the area of responsibility.
Must be able to utilize ladders and access small spaces for short terms to allow for cable runs and cable pulls.
