Job Summary
We are seeking a SATCOM Analyst SME to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for SATCOM analysis, evaluation and recommendations on communications architectures and Army initiatives. You will play a key part in supporting the HQDA G-6’s Networks and C4 Services and Integration (NC4SI) Directorate with oversight of Total Army C4 modernization and sustainment efforts for SATCOM as a managed service. Advise Senior Army G-6 leadership on strategy formulation and implementation to enable the Army’s conduct of global Multi-Domain Operations through continuous transformation of the Unified Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs detailed link performance, satellite network throughput analysis, and spectrum use and efficiency.
  • Provides initiatives to create an Internet Protocol (IP) over satellite test environment, including testing and evaluation of Multi-frequency Time Division Multiple Access (MF-TDMA) based transmission systems.
  • Executes testing to support development and operational missions as they pertain to operations over Wideband satellite constellations. Provide assessments and recommendations to satisfy needs of maintaining and enhancing the Military SATCOM Systems.
  • Performs complex and comprehensive studies on systems including Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), and future Wideband Concepts and alternatives.
  • Participate in standards activities by reviewing and updating waveform and modem specification, attending standards meetings to identify activities impacting PM WIN-T systems, assist in the certification process of PM WIN-T terminals.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Security Clearance:  Secret (must be eligible for TS/SCI)
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Communications Systems, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field.
  • 10 Years of Communications Experience/at least 5 years in Satellite Communications
  • Good oral, briefing and written communications required.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office is required (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience dealing with multiple stakeholder organizations in a Working Group environment
  • Understanding of ETMS2 (Tasking Tracking System)
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen in order to obtain and maintain an interim and final security clearance.
  • Knowledge of SATCOM systems architecture, engineering, design, and analysis as it applies to Wideband Satellite, Protected and Commercial SATCOM systems.  Examples of required areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Radio Frequency (RF) link budget and link margin calculations for both military and commercial SATCOM systems; antenna performance and efficiency analysis; Effective Isotropic Radiated Power, G/T, and link impairment calculations; Earth Terminal architecture and RF systems engineering; satellite architecture and communications performance; operations in degraded communications environments (weather, scintillation, and interference).
