Job Summary
Athena Technology Group (ATG) is seeking an ITAM Analyst to support the VA ITAM Program Management Support effort. The selected candidate will provide analytical, reporting, documentation, process improvement, governance, and strategic planning support for enterprise IT asset management activities. This role supports PWS areas 5.2 Strategic Planning and 5.4 Governance.
Key Responsibilities
Support ITAM data analysis, reporting, documentation, governance, strategic planning, and operational support activities.
Assist with development of ITAM strategic planning reports, process optimization studies, organizational analysis reviews, operational plans, governance reviews, and compliance materials.
Collect, analyze, validate, and summarize data related to ITAM processes, lifecycle management, governance activities, risks, issues, and performance measures.
Prepare meeting materials, status inputs, briefing slides, reports, action item logs, and decision support documentation.
Support development and maintenance of RACI matrices, stakeholder registers, governance documents, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
Assist with research on ITAM best practices, federal requirements, modernization initiatives, asset lifecycle processes, and data quality improvements.
Coordinate with program leadership, strategic planners, governance analysts, technical teams, and VA stakeholders to gather information and support deliverables.
Track deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and action items assigned to the ITAM team.
Support continuous improvement of HAM, SAM, asset accountability, process standardization, and enterprise reporting activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure work products are clear, consistent, and ready for Government review.
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to obtain and maintain VA Public Trust / VA suitability; position is expected to require Tier 2 Moderate Risk background investigation based on PWS tasking.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Public Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience supporting program analysis, business analysis, data analysis, IT operations, asset management, governance, or federal consulting initiatives.
Experience developing reports, briefing materials, process documentation, spreadsheets, trackers, metrics, and action item logs.
Strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and documentation skills.
Experience working with stakeholders to gather information, validate data, and support program deliverables.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint or similar collaboration tools.
Knowledge of IT asset management, IT service management, lifecycle management, governance, or compliance concepts.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Desired:
Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs, OIT, EUS, EUO, or other federal civilian IT programs.
Experience with ITAM, HAM, SAM, CMDB, ServiceNow, data quality, inventory management, or asset lifecycle reporting.
Experience supporting governance documentation, RACI matrices, stakeholder registers, process maps, and compliance reviews.
Experience creating dashboards, pivot tables, charts, and executive-ready reporting packages.
ITIL Foundation, IAITAM, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification.
Experience supporting modernization, process optimization, or enterprise operational improvement initiatives.

About the Program
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology (OIT), End User Operations (EUO), is establishing and formalizing an enterprise Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) program. This effort supports accountability, lifecycle management, governance, strategic utilization, modernization, and enterprise-wide visibility of VA endpoint devices and IT infrastructure. The program includes ITAM program management, strategic planning, governance, compliance, operational planning, reporting, and support for hardware asset management (HAM) and software asset management (SAM) initiatives. This position is contingent upon award of the contract.
